"MO" is named after Moses Polock, known as Uncle Mo, the maternal uncle of museum founders
Philip and A.S.W. Rosenbach. It was Uncle Mo in whose book shop young Abie learned what
would become his life's passion and it was Uncle Mo who told his nephew, "My boy ...
Americana! That's the stuff to collect!"
The Rosenbach holds a rich and varied collection of manuscripts illuminating the
personal and professional lives of some of the most important figures in our country's
